For this Halloween, I had a bit of a challenge to come up with a costume that was fairly elaborate, but still comfortable enough to wear all day long at work. I had to be able to drive in it, to sit in a chair, and to free my hands to be able to type. This was what I came up with. (Mind, I couldn’t wear the wings while driving, and had to don them once I got there!)
Okay, so it’s not the most original name for a raven! I made this lovely bird back in 2000, and I’m quite pleased with this costume on several counts.
2000 was the only year I went to Anime Expo, which is kind of a shame, because it was quite fun. A couple of my friends were enamored of Fushigi Yuugi, and had decided to cosplay as characters from it, so I joined in.
Around the same time as I started working on the Eclipse costume, this creature popped into my mind. At the time, I had never heard the phrase “quadsuit”, so I wasn’t sure if what I had in mind could even be done!
In 1997, I finally got confident enough to try out a fully furred costume!
