New Wall Plaques Up in the Shop - Dragon Skulls and Griffins

Sarrah Wilkinson - 2/2/2021

I've been in painting mode lately! While I've always got resin blanks of the dragon skull wall plaques and griffon wall plaques available in the shop, I like to have a few finished pieces up there as well. There are more on the way soon, but I wanted to get these pieces up and available. The new pieces can be found here:

If you've followed me for a while, you may recognize that the griffin (I can never decide how I want to spell this! Griffon, gryphon? BIRB-KITTEH THING) was originally a design I came up with for my little griffon acrylic charms.

I liked the design so much that I decided to turn it into a more three-dimensional form, a wall hanging plaque. I created a larger clay sculpture and added an absolute ton of detail! I'm really happy with how the details of the feathers turned out, and especially how well they take to being painted in that sort of faux-metal style.

The dragon skull, meanwhile, I had done a bit earlier and it was a unique design that I came up with as I was sculpting it! My apologies for the quality of the photo. I'm not really a great photographer at the best of times, but these early ones make me cringe even more!

I hope you enjoyed this look back at how these wall plaque pieces came to be!
